Game Officials

AGE REQUIREMENTS.

You must be 13 years old, as of 1-April, to be able to qualify for refereeing this season. We are restricting the number of new refs because we had too many Mini Refs last year so the number of games available was not enough.

WHAT HAPPENS.
You will attend 3 training sessions, and at the end of it, you will be recognised as a Mini or Entry-Level referee (depending on your age and which course you attend) within the Ontario Soccer Association. See the Club Calendar for dates, in May, and make sure you contact the Director of Game Officials so we can plan for you!

WHAT MATCHES WILL I WORK ON?
You can cover some matches straight away:

You can referee players that are at least two years younger than you are. If you are 12 yrs old, that means Under-10.
You can act as linesman (assistant referee) on matches that involve players up to your age, and maybe older depending on the decision of the Head Referee.

The referee scheduler will work with you to find what matches suit you and the Club best.

HOW MUCH ARE WE PAID:
The soccer club will pay for your level 4 registration and will provide your first uniform (which you will return at the end of the season). The rates per match are below (end-of-season championship matches may differ):
