PRACTICES and GAMES.
Younger practice and game schedules are
listed on this page.
Under-12 and older play according to the game schedules listed on the same page, but practices are determined by the coach in conjunction with the field scheduler and with parent input.
LEAGUES WE PLAY IN.
In the younger age groups, our recreational program runs as a true house
league where all teams are registered with the one club and all games
are played in Acton. Because Acton is a small town, a House League at
the Under-12 level and older (the 11-a-side game) would be boring in a
league of 2 to 4 teams. So Acton and some of the other area towns have
combined for many years to create a recreational traveling league -
officially known as Escarpment Soccer League and North Peel-Halton
Soccer League. So, while most home games are played in Acton, our
recreational players enjoy playing out of town games in Rockwood,
Hillsburgh, Grand Valley, Milton Soccer Academy, and at the older age
groups Georgetown, Caledon and Bolton.
Acton SC has access to some of the best facilities in the area, including:
- Two lit fields (generally used by the U14 age group and older)
- Two other major fields (MSB Large and Acton HS)
- Three intermediate fields (Elizabeth Drive and Rennie St plus NEW for 2012 Tanners Drive)
- Four permanent OSA mini-fields (2 at MSB Pool end and 2 at Wallace Street NEW for 2012)
- Space to create sub-mini fields for U8 and younger (MSB school)
- State-of-the-art indoor soccer field owned by Acton Agricultural Society, opened in 2007.
The vast majority of our players are in the YOUTH RECREATIONAL category and they enjoy access to these facilities.
Players who wish to play at a more competitive level can try out for an All-Star (tournament) team, or Select or Competitive (rep) team that plays in a higher-level league. Look for menu links to "Competitive Soccer" to explore whether this is for you.
