Halton Hills U12-U18 Recreational Soccer Program

The Acton and Georgetown Soccer Clubs, both incorporated in 1968, have enjoyed great success as individual neighboring associations within the Town of Halton Hills.

Our two clubs are pleased to announce the introduction of a program for our older recreational players.

For this exciting new opportunity, starting in 2016, our two clubs have agreed to having a Halton Hills centered loop for all of our U12-U18 Rec teams. We jointly believe there will be great benefits with playing all of our games in either Acton or Georgetown.

These divisions will consist of Acton, Georgetown, and where appropriate combined teams.

Players will continue to register within their own home club. League play will be jointly managed by Acton and Georgetown.

This program is being designed to keep players interested and involved in our great game as they move up through the older age divisions.

                                SOCCER SUMMER CAMP 2018

Message from the President,
Coming up on Wednesday April 5th is our 2016 Annual General Meeting (AGM). We have moved the date to a spring, from fall, timeframe for a couple of reasons.

  1. As a non-profit organization, we need to tie our year-end audit closer to the date of the AGM. Leaving the AGM to the fall was causing a delay that is not in line with current requirements of the act.

  1. As a club, we believe the spring AGM is a more effective planning and renewal solution.

In the last few years we have made significant changes to how our organization runs.  The areas of competitive balance, coaching and club administration.

  1. Our older divisions are now playing in a newly created Halton Hills Loop in junction with the Georgetown Soccer Club (GSC). This has created a recreational level playing field and increased participation among our U12-18 age groups. Both the ASC and GSC believe this new partnership will benefit our players increasingly as it matures.
  2. Several long-standing volunteers left the organization after their terms ended. This is a normal situation in the life of amateur sport. Your club has devoted significant time to renew core functions in our club.

Our work is ongoing, and this is a call for help. Please come out and listen and participate in some way. When I first started coaching in 1993 I was struck by the number of volunteers it takes to run a club effectively. Players, coaches, referees, parents and administrators all are part of the equation. At the time, there were several parents assisting long after their kids had moved on. Over time I came to realize the dedication to the notion of amateur sports and our community is what drove their continued participation. It is the reason I came back to assist, to “pay it forward” so to speak. True success comes from a continual renewal of the club.

Success of a community club requires all kinds of help, utilizing different kinds of efforts. Please help us succeed together.
